Nerve Blocks
Nerve blocks are a type of pain management technique that involves injecting a local anaesthetic into the area around a nerve or group of nerves. This “freezes” the nerves, blocking the pain signals they transmit to the brain. This can provide effective relief from chronic pain for many patients.
In Ontario, Canada, these services are covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP), which means that the cost of the procedure is covered by the provincial government for individuals who are eligible for OHIP coverage.
This can help make nerve blocks more accessible and affordable for patients who may benefit from this type of pain management.
Trigger Point Injections
Trigger point injections are a type of pain management technique that involves injecting a local anaesthetic into a specific point in a muscle. This is known as a “trigger point,” and can be a source of chronic pain for some patients.
By injecting the anaesthetic into the trigger point, the muscle can be “frozen” and the pain can be relieved. This can be an effective way to manage myofascial pain, which is pain that affects the muscles and connective tissue.
In Ontario, Canada, these services are fully covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP), which means that the cost of the procedure is covered by the provincial government for eligible patients. This can make trigger point injections more accessible and affordable for patients who may benefit from this type of pain management.
Joint Injections
A joint injection is a medical procedure in which a doctor injects medication directly into a joint. The medication can be used to reduce inflammation and pain, or to deliver drugs that can help with pain management.
Joint injections are typically performed on the knee, elbow, hip, or shoulder, and are typically done using a local anesthetic to numb the area.
The procedure itself is typically quick and relatively painless, and can be an effective way to manage pain and improve mobility in the affected joint. These services are fully covered by the OHIP system.
Work And Auto Injuries
Toronto Interventional Pain Clinic, we are committed to providing our patients with the best possible care. We understand that pain can have a significant impact on a person’s quality of life, and we work hard to help our patients manage their pain and improve their well-being.
We work closely with organizations like the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and car insurers to ensure that our patients can access the benefits they need to cover the cost of their care. When necessary, our physicians can write medical reports outlining proposed therapies to help patients access the benefits they need, even if those treatments are not covered by OHIP.
In addition to our commitment to providing high-quality care, we are also dedicated to innovation. We offer a multi-modal pain program that combines a range of treatments and therapies to help our patients manage their pain and improve their quality of life. Our goal is to help our patients GET BACK on their feet and enjoy life to the fullest. If you are experiencing chronic pain, we encourage you to TRY our innovative program and see the benefits for yourself.
Headaches And Migrenes
An overwhelming number of people suffer from headaches and migraines, making days a little harder and life a little more stressful.
Over the last several years, published research shows evidence that Botox is effective at treating migraines and headaches. We are proud to provide this therapy to our patients.
Although OHIP does not cover the cost of doing these injections, our physicians provide the service of injection for free as a service to patients of our community.
